The Way of Release

The Way of Release:
The Power of Letting Go,
and the Wisdom of Gaining

I. The Beginning of Wisdom

没有“舍”,就没有“得”;

“舍”字的本义,既能容纳,也能放下;

Release and wisdom begin together.

“Without letting go, there can be no gain.”
“Without release, nothing new can enter.”

The character   originally meant “dwelling”:
Home — a place to rest.

In image script, 舍 resembled a house
with a person and a touching hand inside.

This means that within a home
one could hold, yet at the same time release;
one could possess, yet at the same time let go.

The brilliance of this character’s design is this:

“舍” is makes room.
“舍” is spaciousness.

When we understand this,
our hearts open, holding the space needed
for all true gain to grow.

II. The Power of Letting Go

重负卸下,心才轻松;

放下执念,心如重生;
放下怨恨,爱有空间;

如树落叶,春芽方茂;

舍,能让你看得更远;

Letting go is power.
When you release,
you remove weight, lighten the heart,
and allow life to breathe again.

Let go of fixation, and the mind feels new.
Let go of resentment, and love finds space.
Let go of ownership, and all things move freely.

Like a tree shedding leaves—
making room for spring buds.
Like a river flowing into the sea—
not disappearance, but merging into a greater vastness.

Letting go allows you to see farther,
and in that softness,
you discover a deeper strength.

III. The Wisdom of Release

放下繁杂,得以简明;
放下执着,得以自在;

舍去旧念,新的想法才会生出;
舍掉旧物,新的空间才会显现;

舍,是智慧的前奏;

Letting go is beginning.
When you release one thing,
you notice the arrival of another.

Let go of clutter, and gain clarity.
Let go of attachment, and gain freedom.
Let go of fear, and gain peace.

The ancients said:

“To release is to receive;
only by letting go can one gain.”

Release is the open hand;
Gain is the fullness it can hold.

Letting go of old thoughts
gives rise to new insight.
Releasing old things
reveals new space.

Dropping needless struggle
invites wisdom and calm.

Release is the prelude to wisdom;
what you gain is the echo
of the release you provide.

IV. The Premier’s Way of Release

他舍弃安逸,选择革命之路;
他舍去小家,成就大家;

他的“舍”,是一种大智慧;

Throughout his life, Premier Zhou Enlai embodied “舍” — release.
He released his own comfort, choosing the road of revolution.
He released his own “small family,” serving the “great family” of the nation.
He released personal glory to lift the dignity of the nation.

In youth, he could have pursued an abundant future,
yet he gave everything to national independence and the people’s liberation.
On the world stage, he shone brightly,
yet he always attributed his achievements to the people and the community.

He released fame and fortune,
He even released his own body and life.

Through that release, he gained
the trust of the people,
the respect of the world,
and the future of the nation.

His “舍” was profound wisdom,
turning letting go into gain,
flowing his life with the river of history,
uniting with the Tao itself.

V. The Way of Release: An Eternal Legacy

舍去执念,心才轻盈;

爱得够深,才愿放手;

Release is a state of being:
Wisdom that can flow through generations.

When we release attachments, the heart grows lighter;
when we release greed, our path grows wider.

Release simply makes space for abundance.

Release is choice,
release is responsibility,
and finally, release is love—

Love deep enough to let go,
Heart wide enough to know what to hold.

Premier Zhou embodied the highest realm of release.
Through his letting go, he fulfilled the people,
fulfilled the nation, and the world.

Today, our own acts of release
bloom into new flowers, bear new fruit,
and carry the power of the Tao
from generation to generation.
