The Way of Teaching and Transmission:
Enlightening Minds, Nurturing Humanity,
Passing Wealth Through Generations
I. The Root of Transmission:
Tao Dwells in the Heart
若心荒芜,知识便成枯木;
Teaching is more than passing down of knowledge. It is the continuation of spirit and values.
Books can teach skills, and classrooms can spread learning, but without Heaven in the heart, what is learned remains shallow.
True teaching requires that values, convictions, and character be carried forward from one generation to the next.
The heart is the soil of transmission.
If the heart is barren, knowledge withers like dry wood;
if the heart is rich, wisdom blooms like flowers in spring.

The Way of Transmission is the Tao taking root and growing within the heart.Thus, family education, the guidance of teachers, and the ethos of society
must return to cultivation of the heart, allowing the Tao to serve as the deepest foundation of life.
Only then can civilization renew itself continuously, without fracture.
II. Material and Spiritual:
The Dual Legacy
Transmission takes place in both visible and invisible forms.
The ancients left behind calligraphy, paintings, the Four Treasures of the Study, and hardwood furniture — tangible carriers that embody the essence of aesthetics and craftsmanship, serving as bridges connecting us with history. Material transmission is the imprint of civilization, the riverbed through which culture flows.
What truly transcends time and endures across generations is spiritual transmission. Research, scholarship, the awakening of thought, and the spread of values through teaching and social influence — these are the pulse of civilization, the sparks of life and wisdom.
Spiritual inheritance is an invisible flame, lighting the hearts of people from generation to generation.

Material wealth is one form of treasure, and so is spiritual wealth. Material wealth diminishes when retained by the self alone, while spiritual wealth grows richer the more it is passed down.
Premier Zhou Enlai left no personal material fortune to future generations; he left a legacy of spirit. His discipline, integrity, compassion and foresight remain an eternal source of inspiration.
Thus, the true meaning of teaching lies not in what one possesses, but in whether the light of spirit is sustained and carried forward — ensuring that civilization flourishes unbroken across the ages.
III. Education and Enlightenment:
The Pathway of Transmission

Education is the most fundamental pathway of spiritual transmission.
The ancients said:
“A teacher is one who transmits the Tao, imparts knowledge, and resolves doubts.”
Transmission cultivates wisdom and character.
Knowledge solves the issues of the present; wisdom guides the direction of the future.
The true purpose of education is not to mold people into a single shape, but to inspire each person to find their own light. Enlightenment helps one to think, to discern, and to become independent; nurturing humanity helps one to take responsibility, to embody compassion, and to dedicate oneself to others. Only when both are present does education become the spark that keeps civilization alive.
Transmission across generations is never a simple act of copying; it is the unity of inheriting and renewing.
To inherit is to safeguard culture and values; to renew is to bring in the creativity and understanding of the present.
When a nation’s education respects tradition while encouraging innovation, it sustains vitality in the river of time.

As Premier Zhou Enlai exemplified: he valued education throughout his life, respected intellectuals, and famously called on the youth to “study for the rise of China.”
His spirit reminds us: teaching becomes the torch that lights the future.
IV. Premier Zhou and Transmission:
The Flame of Spirit
他的清正廉洁,成为为政者的标尺;
他的谦和仁爱,成为做人处世的准绳;
The life of Premier Zhou Enlai stands as the highest model of spiritual transmission for the Chinese nation.
He left behind no material wealth, yet what he passed down was far more precious: a legacy of spirit. His wisdom in governance, his integrity in service, his compassion for the people, and his broad vision for the world—all became flames lighting the path for generations to come.
By embodying these principles, Premier Zhou displayed the qualities of a sage who was, as many say, is “without predecessor and without successor.”
• incorruptible integrity set the standard for statesmanship;
• humility and compassion as the measure of human conduct;
• foresight and wisdom, offered guidance for conscious progress.
He proved that true greatness is not defined by what one possesses, but by what one leaves behind to guide others forward.
Spiritual transmission does not fade with time; rather, it grows brighter under the scrutiny of history.
In turbulent times, Premier Zhou steadied the hearts of the people with calm determination; in uncertain international challenges, he earned global respect with wisdom and tolerance.

His spirit originated in this era, and now belongs to all humanity.
What Premier Zhou entrusted to us a priceless treasure—
the strength of conviction, the embrace of great compassion, and the unceasing sense of responsibility.
This flame passes from generation to generation, igniting the hearts of all who long for the light.
